The Miller Wellness Transitional Behavioral Health program is now a resource for your patients in acute psychological crisis who are urgently looking for help. In addition to a primary care clinic, George and Cynthia Miller Wellness Center includes outpatient behavioral health care, intended to provide short-term, transitional behavioral health services for patients up to 60 days. Given the time-limited nature of treatment at Miller Wellness Center, the goal is to assist patients with their behavioral health stabilization in the short-term while working to connect them to longer-term behavioral healthcare. Patients needing more intense behavioral healthcare care will see either a psychiatrist or a Behaviorist for short-term stabilization and/or to determine if appropriate for longer-term case management. Patients who need long-term management of severe mental illness will be transferred to a specialty mental health clinic as their mental health home. Miller Wellness Center employs highly dedicated behavioral health staff, including nurses, psychiatrists, community support workers, and behaviorists. Patients can expect high quality behavioral healthcare and transitional support, and services may include behavioral health assessments, short-term individual therapy, group therapy, substance abuse treatment, connection to homelessness services, medication management (including injectable medications), linkage to appropriate resources, and patient and family advocacy. An ideal Miller Wellness Behavioral Health referral would be a patient who may be experiencing an acute psychological crisis, not currently connected with a therapist or psychiatrist in the community. Miller Wellness accepts patients with Medi-Cal, Medi-Care, CCHP, as well as uninsured, out-of-county and out-of-state patients. Patients are welcome to walk-in.
